Enthusiastic response to EUROFORGE conFAIR 2018 in Berlinhttps://www.youtube.com/embed/uo0HpFmPuqs

From the 13th to the 15th November 2018 EUROFORGE, the European umbrella organization of the European national associations for the forging industry, had invited to Berlin. By reason of the first European trade fair with accompanying scientific conference program at the ESTREL Hotel & Congress Center in Berlin.

Around 600 trade visitors from 35 countries attended the conFAIR and its exhibition with 55 participating companies. The sponsors offered a comprehensive and international overview of the wide-ranging technology of massive forming. In addition, the guests informed themselves in numerous lectures about the current topics of the industry. As a meeting place for the international forging industry, the first EUROFORGE conFAIR was an ideal platform to connect with customers and potential business partners and to get in personal contact.

“We have had more good discussions after just half a day than at a general industry fair for a whole week”, was just one of the positive responses from exhibitors.

Well-known speakers from industry and science discussed forward-looking technologies as well as challenges for the industry in a global context. As a keynote speaker, EUROFORGE could win over the former German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel and the President of the Leibniz Association, Prof. Dr. med. Matthias Kleiner. Both speakers emphasized the importance of innovation and digitization for the future competitiveness of the industry.

“Providing medium-sized suppliers, especially from Europe, with a platform to offer their products and services to a broad international audience while enhancing the exchange of experiences” was the motivation for EUROFORGE to host the first conFAIR in Berlin” explains Tobias Hain, Secretary General of the host association.

The lecture program of the congress – compiled by an international program committee – had the following main topics:

  • Latest developments in forging technology
  • Impacts of e-mobility on the forging industry
  • Lightweight potentials in forged products
  • Forging industry 4.0
  • International market trends

Thanks to the outstanding feedback from visitors and exhibitors, the next EUROFORGE conFAIR is already planned for the year 2021.
